Moldovan authorities are looking for a new gas supplier to replace Gazprom. We have already chosen seven companies that will provide the country with gas from next month.

It is reported by Reuters .

According to Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu, the Russian gas monopoly is “unpredictable.” At the same time, Moldova expects to receive 300 million euros from the EBRD if Moscow stops gas supplies.

“We have chosen seven companies so far. Gazprom is not one of them,” the politician said.

It is noted that “Gazprom” can stop the supply of gas if the audit of the debt for deliveries, which is estimated at $709 million, is not completed. Chisinau promised to recognize the debt if it is confirmed by an independent audit, which was not carried out.

“We will learn about his decision on gas supplies in October on the last day, perhaps in the last few hours,” Spinu summed up.

As UNIAN previously reported, on August 31, Gazprom  temporarily stopped  gas supplies to Europe via Nord Stream. The company said that oil leaks were found on parts of the pipeline compressor and the equipment had to be shut down until they were fixed.

On the evening of September 2, the Russian gas company Gazprom  announced a complete halt  to gas transportation through the Nord Stream pipeline for an indefinite period. The White House and the  European Commission  reacted  to the decision of the Russian Federation.

  1. I thought Merkel and Schroeder said over and over again that Vladolf wouldn’t use oil or gas as a weapon…
Good to see Moldova stand up to the mafia, this is the result of Putin’s refusal to remove the illegal Russian troops in Moldova. They were warned and now they can’t even intimidate tiny, little Moldova.
