The Armed Forces of Ukraine took almost the entire Kherson region under fire control.

This was announced by the head of the joint coordinating headquarters of the press center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk.

According to her, the Ukrainian military continues to move forward and push back the invaders.

“We continue our combat work, but it’s too early to talk about victories, we need to gain a foothold in the liberated settlements,” she said.

Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south

Recall, earlier it was reported that the  Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive in the south on August 29 . Ukrainian fighters broke through the first line of defense of the Russians in the Kherson region.

On that day, it became known that the occupiers began to flee: the 109th regiment of the so-called “DPR”  withdrew from their positions in the Kherson region , and the Russian paratroopers, who were their support, fled the battlefield.

As of September 13, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were advancing in the Kherson direction , but they did not name the liberated settlements in order to comply with security standards.

Retired colonel and military pilot-instructor Roman Svitan said that he was preventing Ukrainian soldiers from liberating Kherson .
