Russian opposition leader Mikhail Khodorkovsky published information about the dead soldiers of the regular troops of the Russian Federation. He gave the data, referring to the document of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, which was at his disposal.
Journalist Andrey Popov announced the publication of the document .
“48,759 soldiers are the first (almost) official data on the dead of the Russian Federation. Mikhail Khodorkovsky published a document from the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, which, according to him, contains the first real numbers of losses of Russians and the amount of payments to their relatives – almost 50 thousand killed, which is close to Ukrainian estimates,” Popov wrote on his Facebook page and attached Khodorkovsky’s post.

“Only citizens of the Russian Federation are taken into account there. Moreover, only military personnel through the Ministry of Defense. That is, without the National Guard, “musicians”, volunteers, the FSB, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, collaborators and separatists (Ukrainian, Georgian, any), without Syrians and other foreign tourists. That is, in reality, the figure is higher – probably many times over, because the Russian Federation protects its contract soldiers by throwing “unaccounted” soldiers and mercenaries of all stripes at the embrasures. Plus sanitary losses – there are usually 3-4 times more wounded than those killed, ” Popov notes.
As monetary compensation for the dead soldiers, according to the document, the Russian Federation allocated 361 billion rubles.
“7 million per head. What is even more significant is that the Ministry of Finance is asking for another 271 billion for the second half of the year and 724 billion for 2023. In total, almost another trillion rubles. “Believing this document or not is a separate question. But the fact that Khodorkovsky has access to the very top of the Kremlin is a fact. And the numbers look quite realistic. Let’s take them into account,” the journalist notes.
