Explosions reported at rail bridge north of city of Kherson

A series of explosions near Antonivka Rail Bridge near occupied Kherson can be seen in several videos that started circulating in local social media on Sep. 2.

Eyewitnesses report columns of smoke rising in several locations next to the bridge.

“A hit near the rail bridge next to the floodplains; ammo cook-off can be heard,” a comment under one of the videos said.

Ukraine’s General Staff is yet to comment on the reports of Ukrainian strikes in the area.

Earlier, Ukrainian artillery destroyed a Russian barracks in occupied Kherson.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counter-offensive in Kherson Oblast on Aug. 29, after crippling vital Russian supply lines across the Dnipro River.

The Ukrainian authorities ordered a news blackout to ensure operation security for the long-awaited counter-offensive, and most information about the Ukrainian attack in the south has come from Russian sources, which are notoriously unreliable.
