“Detached from reality” – Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reacted to UN official statements on Russia’s killing of civilians in Chaplyne

EUROPEAN PRAVDA – FRIDAY, 26 AUGUST 2022, 11:58

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed disappointment at the lack of a clear position of the Office of the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine regarding Russia’s missile attack on the railway station in Chaplyne on Wednesday.

This is reported by “European Pravda” with reference to the comment of Oleh Nikolenko, the spokesman of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, on Facebook.

“The appeals of the UN high representative to ‘all parties’ to observe international humanitarian law seem detached from reality. Equating a victim with the aggressor is absolutely unacceptable,” the spokesman said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that Russia admitted carrying out the attack on the railway station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, as a result of which twenty-five people, including two children, were killed.

“We expect that the UN structures, to which we are grateful for the organization of humanitarian response, will be able to take advantage of their presence in Ukraine to find out which side should comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law by bombing Chaplyne and other Ukrainian cities and villages,” Nikolenko stressed.

The day before, Denise Brown, the UN humanitarian coordinator for Ukraine, after the Russian missile attack on the railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which killed 25 people, called on “all parties” to observe international law.

At the same time, Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in her speech called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “stop the armed attack on Ukraine“, which has been going on for more than six months.

This appeaser seems to have been brainwashed by Russians from her time as Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Mission in Central African Republic. That was her previous role, was her name put forward in the UN by russia for this job?

    • It is a bit like someone breaks into your house, steals everything, kicks your dog, rapes your daughter, kills your wife and then when the police see you fighting with the intruder says, “Ok, both you guys calm down.”

  2. The UN consists of some of the most useless arseholes in the world. Dominated as it is by squalid dictators from shithole countries. There is no room for democracies in it. No organization that gives power to Russia, China, India and Bongo-Bongoland is of any practical use whatever. It should be ignored. There should be a new organization that is open only to democracies. These democracies should not give any money to shithole regimes that support putler; such as most of Africa.
There are a few exceptions in Africa however: Ghana, Namibia, maybe Ruanda and …… oh dear I just ran out. Ghana has great people, a democratic conservative government and a well run economy. Which for Africa makes it a very exotic place indeed.
