The National Register of Records of Ukraine recognized 5-year-old Maria Makeyeva from Kryvyi Rih as the youngest volunteer who raised UAH 35,492 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was announced on her Facebook page by the head of the National Register of Records Lana Vetrova.
“It is impossible to defeat a country where even the smallest children bring victory closer. The National Register of Records recognized 5-year-old Maria Makeeva from Kryvyi Rih as the youngest volunteer who, with her performance, collected UAH 35,492 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” she said.
According to Vetrova, the girl, to the musical accompaniment of her older brother Alexander, who is also the record holder of Ukraine in another category, performed Ukrainian songs in the center of Lviv, where she and her mother temporarily moved during the war.
“The performance of the little record holder lasted 9 hours and 54 minutes. At first, the children dreamed of saving up for a bulletproof vest, but, as the parents found out, at that moment, thermal imaging sights were in great need at the front line. Therefore, with the help of a volunteer fund, which also reported a certain amount to children’s funds, the INFIRAY CL35 M thermal imager was purchased and handed over to our fighters on the front line,” the head of the register noted.
Vetrova specified that the youngest volunteer in Ukraine and her brother still plan to perform and raise funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Children have only one dream: to end the war as soon as possible,” she added.
