Since June of this year, Germany has been blocking further deliveries of heavy weapons to Ukraine. The German Ministry of Defense holds regular meetings to discuss this issue. But they end with a zero result for the APU.
This information was shared by the German edition of Die Welt, citing sources in the Ukrainian government.
“According to the information, since June, the German Ministry of Defense has been holding summit meetings several times a month with regular intervals, in which [German Defense Minister] Christine Lambrecht also takes part,” Die Welt said.
However, all discussions end in a negative result for the APU. Since June, Ukrainian diplomats have been meeting with their German counterparts and trying to get new commitments from the FRG to purchase heavy weapons for Ukraine. But the German side remains “deaf” to requests and uses “strange excuses”.
According to the source, Ukraine is constantly asking to send new batches of Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts and MARS II multiple launch rocket systems.
Recall that back in mid-July, Germany announced that the country was running out of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And the last delivery of heavy military equipment from Germany for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was on August 10. Then Ukraine received four additional Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.
