Ukrainian Army launches fresh strike on Antonivsky bridge, says operational command

The Ukrainian military launched a fresh strike on the Antonivsky Bridge in Russian-occupied Kherson Oblast overnight on Aug. 14, head of the joint coordination press center of the South Operational Command Natalia Humeniuk has said on Ukrainian national television.

She said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine intend to help the invaders make another “gesture of goodwill” and secure the status of the Antonivsky Bridge as impassable.

“This means that transporting heavy equipment and ammunition stocks will be incredibly difficult, to the point of being impossible,” she said.

Humeniuk added that Ukrainian troops continue to verify the results of strikes on bridges in Kherson Oblast. She said the Russian command is using its remaining transport routes to evacuate to the left-bank areas of the Dnipro River.

When the bridges are completely destroyed, the invaders remaining on the right-bank areas will have to “accept the will of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Humeniuk said.

Earlier Telegram messengers released a footage of strikes on the Antonivsky Bridge overnight on Aug. 14.

Ukrainian forces first struck the Antonivsky Bridge in Kherson Oblast on July 19. The Ukrainian military also launched fresh strikes on both the Antonivsky and Kakhovka bridges in Kherson Oblast overnight on Aug. 8.

Kherson Regional Council member Serhiy Khlan said Ukraine’s military on Aug. 12 launched new strikes on the bridge across the Dnipro River near the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant (HPP).

In turn, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov announced that Russian puppet “authorities” were fleeing to occupied Melitopol in Zaporizhzhya Oblast following the destruction of all three key bridges across the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast.

  1. With this methodology, Ukraine practically has its fists wrapped around the cockroach’s neck and is steadily squeezing it together.

    • If it’s true that all the military leaders in Kherson have hightailed it out of there, once the cauldron starts bubbling, with no higher command on the right bank I expect a lot of cockroaches will surrender.

      • That’s exactly what I expect. In addition to capturing an entire swarm of insects, the UA forces will have a lot of additional artillery and tanks at their disposal.
