The United States of America did not transfer weapons to the Ukrainian army, with which it could strike at the Saki airfield in Novofedorovka .

This was announced on Twitter by Voice of America journalist Jeff Seldin, citing a statement by a representative of the US Department of Defense at a briefing for American media.

“The United States did not give Ukraine any weapons that could strike at the Saki airfield in Crimea,” the Pentagon spokesman quoted the journalist as saying.

In addition, he noted that the US Department of Defense “does not have anything” that would indicate that a missile was launched at the Russian airfield.

Recall, according to the United States, as a result  of explosions at the Saki airfield  in the occupied Crimea, a number of Russian fighters, fighter-bombers, reconnaissance aircraft and ammunition depots were destroyed.

The UK believes that eight Russian Su-24 bombers and Su-30 fighters were destroyed.

As UNIAN reported earlier,  a series of explosions at the Saki military air base  in Novofedorivka sounded on August 9. It is known that from this base the planes attacked the Zaporozhye, Nikolaev and Kherson regions.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that ammunition simply exploded at a military facility .
