Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Russian Federation has lost two squadrons of the latest Su-35 fighters .

Alexey Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this at a briefing.

He noted that Russian Su-35 aircraft showed a low level of survivability in Ukraine.play video

“During the full-scale aggression, the invaders lost two squadrons of such aircraft. This is about 24 units,” Gromov added.

According to him, over the past week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 27 air targets. The occupiers, due to heavy losses in aviation equipment, are preparing to involve the Su-24M in combat operations. These are obsolete bombers that were withdrawn from their combat strength.

As UNIAN previously reported, at least seven Russian aircraft were destroyed during explosions at the airfield in Saki. This may be the biggest loss of Russian aviation in one day.
