The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced that it has allocated an additional $4.5 billion to the government of Ukraine through the World Bank mechanism.

USAID funding will go to the government of Ukraine in tranches. The first of them in the amount of $3 billion is expected this month.
Previous tranches of assistance to Ukraine from the agency amount to $1.3 billion in June and $1.7 billion in July.
US funds should help the Ukrainian government provide social and financial assistance to the population, children with disabilities and millions of internally displaced people.
USAID noted that U.S. budgetary support has enabled the government of Ukraine to support gas and electricity supplies to hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure and urgently deliver essential humanitarian supplies to citizens. Also, the funds went to pay doctors, teachers and other government employees.
USAID noted that the World Bank, along with third-party oversight bodies, has put in place “strong safeguards” to ensure that funds are channeled as intended.
As UNIAN reported, on August 1, John Kirby, coordinator of the US National Security Council for strategic communications, spoke about a new $550 million assistance package for Ukraine. In particular, it provides for the provision of ammunition for HIMARS and 155 mm artillery systems.

Also very nice would be for the US to stop financing countries that hate our guts. They could use this money to help Ukraine instead. Even a fraction of it would be a huge sum.
