Another bridge reportedly damaged in Kherson, further hindering Russian logistics

Residents of the occupied city of Kherson in southern Ukraine reported that on the evening of Friday, August 5, they once again heard a series of explosions and saw bright flashes in the sky near one of the local bridges.

This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to Channel 24.

Locals took to social media to report that Ukraine seems to have attacked the Dariivsky bridge across the Inhulets River and the positions of Russian troops next to it.

“At 23:20, there were strikes on the Dariivsky bridge or somewhere near,” one of the netizens wrote.

Earlier blasts were reported in the occupied town of Nova Kakhovka, where an air-raid siren went off.

So far, there has been no official confirmation of the Ukrainian strike coming from the authorities.

The bridge over the Inhulets is part of the road from Kakhovska Hydro Power Plant. After the Ukrainian strike on the Antonivsky bridge on July 26, the road remained one of the two routes through which the Russians could transfer their equipment to the occupied Kherson.

Why is it necessary to damage the bridge over Ingulets

The fact is that this crossing is part of the road from Kakhovskaya HPP. After the damage to the Antoniv bridge on July 26, the hydroelectric power plant remained one of the 2 routes through which the Russians could transfer their equipment to occupied Kherson.

  1. The trap is snapping shut. Now that more cockroach troops are in the Kherson region, UA forces are destroying their supply and escape routes. The coming days and weeks will be very interesting.

  2. The only way for the orcs to be supplied is now over the dam at Nova Kakhovka. Ukraine can easily destroy that route too, without destroying the dam. As you see from the map below, if Ukraine train their Himars on the circled section, the Orcs are trapped, with no escape route, or no way to get resupplied. The circled section is a 30 metre wide section located on the left side of the river, just before the main dam.

      • They just have to make sure they don’t hit the dam. That would constitute a war crime according to the UN, and would give the orcs plenty of propaganda material, besides it flooding Kherson.

        • Yes, unfortunately, you might be right. You always have to count on international organizations throwing Ukraine before the first best bus that comes along for the tiniest infractions, while being largely silent about mafia lands despicable war crimes.

  3. Just the other day Denys Davydov was pointing out a great spot to hit near the dam which was/is very vulnerable. AFU is setting things up and fighting very smart. Sun Tzu would be proud.
