President Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia to Olga Kachura, who commanded a rocket artillery battalion in the self-proclaimed DPR.

Kachura, emphasized on the Kremlin website, was awarded “for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty.”

Kachura, known by the call sign Korsa, died on July 29. The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, called her death a “huge loss” and awarded her the title of “Hero of the DPR”.
