Mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region has begun

The first evacuation train arrived in Kropyvnytskyi this morning. Women, children, elderly people, many people with reduced mobility. Everyone was met and accommodated, everyone was helped.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk

Earlier, she reported that the government is introducing mandatory evacuation of residents of unoccupied areas of Donetsk region before the start of the heating season. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, supported the decision and called on local residents to leave the region in order to save their lives.

On July 29, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to create the corresponding headquarters.

According to Vereshchuk, if someone decides to refuse evacuation, they will need to sign a refusal form stating that the person understands all the consequences and is responsible for his life.

The evacuation is due to two reasons — the intensification of hostilities and the almost complete absence of electricity and gas supply, which means that there will be no heating in the Donetsk region in winter.

— There is absolutely no gas supply in Donetsk region, all the gas pipelines that could be repaired have been repaired, but, unfortunately, the enemy destroys again and again everything that would help to warm people in winter.
