The Russians set up a smoke screen, but the ammunition suddenly began to detonate.

At the railway station “Kalanchak” in the Kherson region , the invaders set up a smoke screen and blew up their own train with equipment and ammunition.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to intelligence, the invaders successfully “demilitized” their own train on July 31. On that day, a train with military equipment and ammunition for the occupiers arrived at Kalanchak.

“At 8 a.m. the next day, the rashists began unloading the echelon. Obviously, in order to mask the unloading process and protect against HIMARS strikes, the occupiers used powerful means of smoke. At about 11:20 an explosion thundered in the work area. It was not possible to accurately determine its nature from “behind a dense smoke screen. However, immediately after the explosion, the echelon, without any warning, began to move in the direction of the Crimea. The enemy personnel fled in a panic,” the report says.

According to intelligence, the explosion was likely the result of careless handling of ammunition during unloading or a fire that arose as a result of the inept use of pyrotechnics during the creation of a smoke screen.
