The nature of the damage to the building is not typical for a missile attack, as the occupiers claim.

New satellite images have emerged from the site of the massacre of Ukrainian soldiers in occupied Yelenovka. The footage confirms that the building was blown up from the inside.
Satellite images published by American journalist Christopher Miller.
New photographs of the Yelenovskaya prison in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region of Ukraine, where at least 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed in an attack that Kyiv says – and preliminary data suggests – were carried out by Russian troops,” the journalist wrote.play video
Miller showed the Maxar satellite data before the tragedy (dated July 27) and after the tragedy (dated July 30). On the frames from space, it is clearly seen that the tin roof of the barrack was torn from the inside. The building does not show any damage associated with a HIMARS missile attack.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on the night of July 29, an explosion was heard on the territory of the former penal colony in Olenevka. The building was destroyed, which contained Ukrainian prisoners of war, withdrawn from the Azovstal plant.
Immediately after the explosion, Russia accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of shelling the penal colony. In Ukraine, they said that the explosion in Yelenovka was a Russian terrorist act with the aim of hiding war crimes and discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to intelligence, the attack was carried out by mercenaries from the Wagner PMC .
On July 30, the UN announced its readiness to provide experts to investigate the shelling of the colony .
