Lavrov noted that Russia is allegedly ready for negotiations with Kyiv.

After five months of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia is counting on the UN to facilitate the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions .

The aggressor expects the sanctions to be lifted as part of a food deal. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to RIA Novosti .

He noted that Moscow “does not ask for the lifting of sanctions, but on the topic of food, the West must eliminate the problems it has created.”

“After the signing of the agreements in Istanbul on the initiative of the UN Secretary General, he volunteered to seek the removal of these illegitimate restrictions. We will hope that he will succeed,” Lavrov said after talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri.

At the same time, Lavrov noted that Russia is allegedly ready for negotiations with Kyiv.

“We do not have any prejudices about resuming negotiations on a wider range of issues, but it is not up to us. Because the Ukrainian authorities, from the president to innumerable advisers, constantly say that there will be no negotiations until Ukraine will not defeat Russia,” Lavrov said

Lavrov also noted that Russia is ready to provide Egypt with test systems for the detection of monkeypox. In addition, according to Lavrov, the aggressor country is considering the possibility of supplying Egypt with the Sputnik Light vaccine as part of a humanitarian project.
