The Foreign Ministry calls on the UN and Turkey to ensure that Russia complies with its obligations within the framework of the safe functioning of the grain corridor.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine says that the rocket attack on the port of Odessa is Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spit in the face of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General António Guterres.
The speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko announced this on the social network Facebook .
“It took the Russian Federation less than 24 hours to cast doubt on the agreements and promises it made to the UN and Turkey in the document signed yesterday in Istanbul by a missile attack on the territory of the port city of Odessa. The Russian missile is Putin’s spit in the face of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who made great efforts to reach an agreement, and to whom Ukraine is grateful,” the diplomat stressed.
Ukraine insists on the need for strict implementation of the agreements on restoring the safe export of Ukrainian agricultural products across the Black Sea from three ports: Odessa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny, Nikolenko emphasized.
“We call on the UN and Turkey to ensure Russia’s compliance with its obligations within the framework of the safe operation of the grain corridor. In case of failure to comply with the agreements reached, Russia will bear full responsibility for the deepening of the global food crisis,” the speaker concluded.
