A new chance for the Russian economy – Putin-style salvation. According to the law of the Russian government, the right to introduce special measures in the economic sphere has appeared.

As they say in the plot of the FreeDom project, the law was signed on July 14th. It talks about providing for the army, which operates outside of Russia. In fact, Putin needs additional resources for his war.

That is, the state can oblige any enterprise to serve the army. That is, he can force private business to produce what the army needs, and not what private business needs.

Officially, this law obliges to serve only the military, but in fact this means that businesses from completely different industries will be involved.

“The military-industrial complex is actually even food. Because the soldiers need to make dry rations. The military-industrial complex is, among other things, personal hygiene products for the army. This is even A4 paper, which is used at the headquarters,” explains Agia Zagrebelskaya, anti-corruption expert.

And – the icing on the cake – the authorities can unilaterally regulate the prices of contracts. 

“When it starts to work at full capacity, then those businessmen who will say that we do not agree, that it is cheap, that it is at a loss to us, they will immediately be declared enemies of the people, speculators who want to make it difficult for Russia time to make money on troubles and war,” adds Zagrebelskaya.

“Legal entities, regardless of their organizational and legal form and form of ownership, are not entitled to refuse to conclude state contracts for the supply of goods, the performance of work, the provision of services,” the document says.

As UNIAN previously reported, the Kremlin leadership is trying to  support a full-scale war against Ukraine with economic measures . In particular, the authorities want to reactivate mobilization funds in the economy without declaring mobilization.
