The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have joined the organization of providing transportation by civilian ships.

Over the past 4 days, already 16 merchant ships have passed through the canal at the mouth of the Bystroye river passage. The Danube is the Black Sea and will be waiting for loading with Ukrainian grain.
This is reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
More than 90 ships are waiting on the roadstead of the Sulina Canal for their turn to enter Ukrainian ports. In total, there are 135 ships in the roadstead of the Romanian Sulina Canal.
The passage through the mouth of the Bystry to the Ukrainian Danube ports (“Izmail”, “Reni” and “Ust-Dunaysk”) became possible two days ago thanks to the liberation of Zmeiny Island from Russian troops.
“Over the past 4 days, 16 ships have already passed through the mouth of the Bystry. We plan to maintain this pace. The restoration of navigation through this channel is an important step, which will also unload the road of the Sulina Canal and speed up the export of grain. Unfortunately, now its throughput and organization of work on this The channel makes it possible to receive only 4 ships, if necessary, at least 8 ships per day,” Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Vaskov said.
According to him, in parallel with this, the ministry is negotiating with Romanian colleagues and representatives of the European Commission to increase the number of passages through the Sulina Canal.
“Under these conditions and the presence of a route through the mouth of Bystroe, we expect that within a week the accumulation of ships in the roadstead will be eliminated and we will be able to increase the monthly export of grain by 500,000 tons,” Vaskov added.
The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have joined the organization of providing transportation by civilian ships.
Today, due to the blockade of seaports, which before the full-scale invasion accounted for approximately 80% of Ukrainian agricultural exports, food exports occur exclusively through the Danube ports, railway and road checkpoints on the western borders.
Their throughput capacity is not yet enough to fully replace seaports. In particular, in June, the existing logistics routes managed to export approximately 2.5 million tons of products, while the monthly need for the export of such products is 8 million tons.
