By partially resuming the export of agricultural products by river, Ukraine is helping to resolve the global crisis.
Thanks to the liberation of the Serpent Island by the Armed Forces of Ukraine , the first eight foreign ships have already arrived in Ukrainian ports.
According to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they have joined the organization to ensure the transportation of agricultural products by civilian ships through the mouth of the Bystry channel of the Danube-Black Sea river.play video
“Snake Island is of strategic importance, because it allows you to control the surface and partially air situation in the south of Ukraine, which was used by the occupier, blocking the movement of civilian ships in the southern part of our country,” the Navy said.
Due to the blockade of civil shipping by the Russians, global companies had to use the Sulina Canal, which led to the accumulation of a large number of ships and its significant overload.
At the same time, millions of tons of Ukrainian grain were blocked in Ukrainian ports, a significant part of which was intended for the UN World Food Program to combat the global crisis.
“Partially resuming the export of agricultural products by river, Ukraine, thereby, helps in solving the global crisis – hunger,” the Navy said.
However, most Ukrainian ports are still closed, and some of them are occupied. At the same time, Russian units continue to strike critical infrastructure and civilian ships in the Black Sea.
