In the realities of the sanctions, in the first quarter of 2022 alone, Russian airlines calculated a record loss of more than $1 billion.

The Russians are indignant: to fly out of the Russian Federation is now a task with an asterisk. It is not easy to find tickets, and if you are lucky, then not everyone can afford a flight.
As they say in the plot of the FreeDom project, Russians need to get used to this. After all, an increase in the price of air travel, a decrease in the number of countries to which you can fly, transfers – these are all the consequences of sanctions against the Russian Federation due to a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“Sanctions are slowly but surely destroying the Russian air transportation market. In the future, aircraft in the Russian Federation will only be seen on TV,” political analyst Maxim Dzhigun predicts.
In the realities of the sanctions, in the first quarter of 2022 alone, Russian airlines calculated a record loss of more than $1 billion.
Russian airlines suffer such losses for several reasons:
- Closed skies of Western countries for flights from Russia . Not only passenger flights, but also cargo flights do not fly there. In recent months, cargo transportation by Russian airlines has decreased by 75%.
- The closing of the sky by the Russian government over the south of the country and the temporarily occupied Crimea. A number of airports were closed.
- As part of the sanctions, Russian aircraft are arrested abroad. They will not be returned to Russia.
“Today, Russian aviation is just beginning to feel the effects of sanctions. Further, it will only get worse,” the journalists summed up.
Earlier it was reported that there will be many times fewer citizens of the Russian Federation in Turkish resorts this summer . This situation has developed due to problems with flights and Russian credit cards.
