In Russia, defense industry plants go into downtime, they freeze production.
Uralvagonzavod, the only tank manufacturer in the Russian Federation, can no longer fully operate due to a lack of foreign components. The management sent employees of the enterprise on unpaid leave.

As military expert Alexander Kovalenko notes, factories go into idle time, they freeze production. They cannot work without components and technological capabilities for the production of new tanks.
“Whether there were new tanks is a very good question. In fact, Uralvagonzavod has not been releasing new tanks from scratch for several years, as the Russian leadership likes to report about it. The company modernizes old Soviet tanks and presents them as new,” they note journalists. As experts explain, this is done in order to cut public funds.
Today, the enterprise cannot even modernize old equipment, since the modernization took place at the expense of foreign equipment and spare parts.
After a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, no one wants to deal with the Russian Federation. Accordingly, Russia, as a weapons manufacturer, has actually lost a sales market.
The Barnaul Machine Tool Plant has exported more than 1 billion rounds of ammunition to more than 30 countries over the past two years. But now the countries of North America have stopped buying cartridges from this plant. Deliveries to India, China and Egypt also decreased. Due to the loss of the sales market, the production of the plant was partially suspended, almost half a thousand employees were laid off.
Experts note that the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation is in a permanent crisis. Firstly, enterprises constantly lack components, modern electronics, chips. Secondly, enterprises lose contracts abroad.
Military experts predict a reformatting of the entire world arms market in the foreseeable future. That is, the Russian Federation can be pushed out of its niche.
Earlier, the United States of America imposed sanctions against five Chinese companies. The reason was the support of the Russian defense and military sector before and after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
