The Russian authorities have legalized the smuggling of goods, which they call “parallel imports”.

The Federation Council of the Russian Federation approved the law on the legalization of “parallel imports”, Russian media write. Earlier, on June 21, the bill was approved by the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The document protects Russian companies that import goods without the permission of the copyright holder from possible civil, administrative and criminal liability.

We are talking, in particular, about perfumes, clothes and shoes, watches, furniture, paper, technology, transport, electronics, metals, fuel.

Also included are products of many brands, in particular: Apple and Samsung equipment, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Renault, Tesla, Toyota cars.

The concept of “parallel imports” was coined by the Russians after the West imposed harsh economic sanctions for invading Ukraine.

Since February 24, hundreds of companies have left the Russian market, and they sold their property to local businesses.
