Russia has faced serious problems with the import of terminal IT equipment.
This was stated by the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia Maksut Shadayev, according to Russian propaganda media.
“It is clear that the situation is changing very quickly, but at the moment we have really serious problems with the shipment of final equipment,” – said the Russian official.
He explained that there are problems with the shipment of servers, storage systems and base stations.
At the same time, according to him, components designed for assembling IT equipment inside the Russian Federation are delivered, but under conditions of complex logistics.
As reported, the largest Western manufacturers of telecommunications equipment Nokia and Ericsson after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine have officially announced the cessation of supplies to Russia. At the same time, Nokia has promised to continue supporting already installed equipment. At the same time, Huawei has not yet made any official statements about continuing or terminating cooperation with Russian customers.
At the same time, Chinese Huawei did not announce the cessation of supplies to Russia, but in late May stopped communicating with its customers in this country.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its own sources, that several other major Chinese technology companies have stopped supplying their products to Russia without announcing it publicly. According to the publication, among them – a supplier of computer equipment Lenovo Group Ltd. and smartphone and electronics maker Xiaomi Corp.
