Bulgaria has started trial deliveries of gas from Azerbaijan instead of Russian gas.

A trial supply of Azerbaijani gas through the interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece has already taken place.

It is noted that in test mode, deliveries will take place until the end of June, and from July 2, delivery of contractual volumes of 1 billion cubic meters will begin. about.

As UNIAN previously reported, Bulgaria refused to pay for Russian gas in rubles. The country meets more than 90% of its gas needs with imports from Russia’s Gazprom.

As a result, the Russian “Gazprom” from April 27 completely suspended gas supplies to the company “Bulgargaz” (Bulgaria) because of the refusal to switch to payment in rubles.
