President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev refused the Order of Alexander Nevsky, which he was offered to be awarded by the Russian authorities on June 17 at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. This was announced by Kazakh political scientist Yerbol Yedilov, citing several sources.
“The head of state thanked for the honor. However, he decided not to accept either domestic or foreign awards until the end of his presidential powers. For the same reason, during a recent visit to Bishkek, the president refused the highest Kyrgyz order Manas of the first degree, ”Edilov writes in his telegram channel.
The Tengrinews.kz publication turned to the press service of the head of Kazakhstan for a comment and received confirmation of this information.
