Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel does not think the decision to build Nord Stream 2 was false.
Merkel stated this in an interview for RND .
“I believed in changes not through trade, but in connection with trade with the second largest nuclear power in the world. Then they reasoned like this: if Nord Stream 2 works, Putin will not supply gas through Ukraine or even attack it,” she said. Merkel.
But the politician added that before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Nord Stream-2 did not work, so it is inappropriate to say that gas was Russia’s weapon.
“In that sense, gas was not a weapon,” Merkel, 67, said.
Recall that Angela previously voiced the unexpected reason for Russian aggression. The ex-chancellor also admits the possibility of being an intermediary between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

Even though putin didn’t get his nord stream pipeline, to use this as a point of saying Russia can’t use its gas as a weapon, is ridiculous. Don’t the Russians have oil tanker ships? Do they have no oil freight rail cars? Are there no oil trucks in Russia? Do they have no capacity for allowing purchasing countries to send their own ships, trains, and/or trucks?
I’d like to see how much Russian gas money merkel had been getting before this war, and then see how much she’s had Germany sucking up to putin’s nipples!
