The invaders seized the database of debtors of Ukrainian banks and began to transfer them to Russian ones.

Screenshots of the corresponding SMS were published by one of the residents of the region occupied by the Russian Federation, who became a victim of unauthorized Russian interference.

In a text message, the Russian Tinkoff Bank warned a Privatbank client that his debt of over UAH 100,000 was allegedly transferred to the occupiers’ bank.

After a long silence, the financial installation operator confirmed to the man that his client data had been leaked to Tinkoff Bank.

“That’s right. Your debts have been redirected to Tinkoff Bank. In the near future you will receive instructions on the further debt repayment algorithm. We hope for your understanding,” the operator girl answered dryly.

With the arrival of Russian troops in Kherson, local collaborator Kirill Stremousov promised to write off all bank debts.

  1. Well, though this sounds like an opportunity for Russia to get paid in efforts to resolve those debts, taking on unpaid also weakens the ruble for as long as the debt continues to be unpaid. If Ukrainians in captured territory can survive without paying those debts at all, then I think this further devalues the Russian economy.

Perhaps they can try something like a black market and hide all those transactions away from notice of the orcs. They’d be happy to try getting their grubby fingers on it if they could.

    • This isn’t so. They are forcing debtors to pay them for debts that the orcs never provided. Money for free, so to speak. And, the true creditors are not getting their money back.

There is no aspect of life in the occupied regions that aren’t subject to theft by mafia land!
