Russia allegedly opposed Ukraine’s accession to NATO, Putin said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that Moscow is not against Ukraine’s European integration.
He spoke about this at the SPIEF economic forum in St. Petersburg on June 17.
Moreover, the head of the Kremlin claims, Russia has never been against Ukraine’s accession to the EU, since this is not a defense alliance.
“We have never been against this (Ukraine’s entry into the EU – ed.), we have always been against the military development of Ukrainian territory, because it threatens our security. As for economic integration – for God’s sake, this is their choice,” Putin said.
