By the end of June, the United States of America will transfer HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine , which can be used on the battlefield in a few weeks.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said this at a briefing after a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Support to Ukraine (the so-called Rammstein-3) in Brussels.

Milley noted that since for about 60 days – since April 16 – Russia has been carrying out an enhanced offensive in the Donbass, the United States, together with allies and partners, has provided Ukraine with dozens of 155-mm howitzers and almost half a million shells.

“By the end of this month, we will hand over HIMARS systems and ammunition,” Milli said.

According to him, in a few weeks Ukrainians will have long-range rocket artillery ready for use on the battlefield.

Milli noted that to date, 420 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained to use M777 howitzers, 300 – M109 self-propelled howitzers, 129 – M113 armored personnel carriers, 100 – unmanned aerial vehicles. He also added that it was today that 60 Ukrainian soldiers completed training in the use of the HIMARS MLRS.
