President Emmanuel Macron said that France is “entering a period of war economy” and will increase its armaments.

“I asked the Minister and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces that they have the opportunity in the coming weeks to re-evaluate this law on military programming in the light of the geopolitical context. France has entered a military economy in which I believe that we will organize ourselves in the long term,” – the president said.
He called on the EU to develop a strategy to strengthen the defense industry.
In 2022, France’s military budget increased to 40.9 billion euros, and is planned to reach 50 billion euros in 2025.
Recall that France plans to transfer a new batch of weapons to Ukraine.
