Danilov: those responsible for the occupation of the southern regions will be searched later

According to Danilov, now the primary task of Ukraine is to give a military response to the Russian occupiers.

Now there is no final answer to the question of why the occupation of the southern regions of Ukraine took place.

This was stated by NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov in a commentary to Radio Liberty .

“The question is quite complicated. We had a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on this issue in the border regions (it was about Kherson, Zaporozhye, Mykolaiv, Donetsk regions) … To date, there is no final answer. But without this answer, it will be very difficult for us in the future. Therefore, we will definitely get an answer about why this happened and who made these or those decisions,” he stressed.

According to Danilov, now the primary task of Ukraine is to give a military response to the Russian army.

“Now the war and now the priority is to respond to the enemy in the war. Of course, now you can go to this part  ( search for answers to questions about how the occupation of the south happened – ed .) , but then accusations and political processes will begin. And political issues are now put on a certain pause, because we need to overcome the enemy. And here we must be united,” the NSDC Secretary explained.

Now Russian troops control parts of the Zaporozhye, Kherson, Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov criticized the diplomats for the failure of the Budapest Memorandum. According to him, in 1994, Ukrainian diplomats had to work harder to ensure that this memorandum was legally protected.

    • That’s a good question but honestly whatever the reason, based on the tremendous efforts of our military, I need to believe it was for good reasons, until we learn otherwise.
