The US Treasury has banned Americans from buying Russian securities.

It is reported by “Voice of America” .

“Americans are not allowed to purchase either new or pre-existing debt or equity securities,” the statement said.

The US Treasury Department has published guidelines for US money managers explaining that the purchase of any Russian debt or shares held by Russian firms is prohibited under Washington’s sanctions on Moscow.

“In line with our goal of depriving Russia of the financial resources it needs to continue its brutal war against Ukraine, the Treasury Department has made it clear that Americans are prohibited from making new investments that benefit Russia, including through secondary market purchases,” a Treasury spokesman said. .

Recall that Russian troops invaded Ukraine early in the morning on February 24 . Moscow did not even declare war on our country, but called the actions of its occupying forces a “special operation”, in particular, for the “denazification” of Ukrainians.

Due to the large-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, over 20 thousand people died in Mariupol alone.

The US authorities decided to help Kyiv – they imposed new sanctions against Russia and decided to help the Ukrainian state with weapons. In particular, the United States banned the supply of dollars to the Russian Federation .
