The plant will resume production of cars under the Moskvich brand.

After Renault left the Russian Federation, the company’s former plant in Moscow was officially renamed Moskvich , the head and owner changed.
This is reported by the Russian media.
In mid-May, Renault transferred its Russian assets to the state and the government of Moscow. The Renault Russia JSC plant in Moscow was transferred to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Renault’s 68 percent stake in AvtoVAZ was transferred to the Central Research Automobile and Automotive Institute.
Dmitry Pronin, deputy head of the Moscow Department of Transport, became the new head of the plant. The plant itself was renamed – instead of CJSC Renault Russia, it is now called JSC Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the plant will resume production of cars under the Moskvich brand. At the same time, the authorities are not going to produce old models of this car, but plan to produce modern ones.
Also, information appeared in the media that Chinese cars could be produced at the vacated capacities of the capital’s automobile plant.

I remember the Beatles song, “Back in the USSR”. That’s mafia land … back in the USSR!
Anyway, mafia land will go back to producing junk – just like in the “good old days” of the USSR.
