In the Donetsk region, the occupying troops have already destroyed 43 religious buildings in the three months of a full-scale invasion. Most of them belonged to the UOC-MP .

The head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavel Kirilenko announced this in his Telegram channel.

“Having received the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow Kirill, the Russians are destroying the Ukrainian cultural and religious heritage – even those objects that are directly subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate itself. Yesterday, as a result of the shelling of Svyatogorsk, the All Saints Skete of the Svyatogorsk Lavra burned down, but this is far from the first religious building destroyed by the Russians” , the message says.

According to Kirilenko, only in Svyatogorsk, which unites three monuments of architecture and culture, the Russians damaged the historical and architectural museum, destroyed the temple, two sketes and two buildings of cells of the Svyatogorsk Lavra, killing four monks.

“In total, Russians have already destroyed or damaged at least 43 religious buildings in the region – the vast majority of them belonged to the Moscow Patriarchate. This is the deliberate destruction of any manifestations of Ukrainian culture.
