The NATO Parliamentary Assembly declares the need to support Ukraine on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration and increase the supply of heavy weapons.

According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, this is stated in the declaration adopted at the spring session of the NATO PA.play video

More than 200 legislators from about 30 countries of the NATO Alliance unanimously approved the declaration “Standing with Ukraine”, which “sternly condemned the war started by Russia.”

The declaration says that the NATO PA demands to support Ukraine on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration and increase the supply of heavy weapons, in particular, air defense systems, missile defense systems, anti-ship systems and artillery, as well as strengthen the exchange of intelligence.

The document speaks of the need to scale up destructive sanctions against Russia and gradually abandon the import of coal, gas, oil and uranium from the Russian Federation. We are also talking about the introduction of additional sanctions against Russian oligarchs, officials and their families, as well as against propagandists and state media.

The NATO PA insists on the expulsion of Russian diplomats from NATO countries who are engaged in hostile activities. In particular, this concerns the spread of hatred, disinformation and inciting conflicts.

The document focuses on the need to create a special International Tribunal to investigate, prosecute and bring to justice those responsible for the aggression against Ukraine.

The declaration speaks of the need for a NATO strategic concept, which will clearly define Russia’s revisionism and aggressive actions as the immediate and main threat to Euro-Atlantic security and will provide for the strengthening of the eastern flank of the Alliance. This also applies to the significant strengthening of NATO’s military potential, in particular, Russia’s nuclear deterrence.

As is known, on May 27-30 Vilnius (Republic of Lithuania) hosted a meeting of the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

  1. Just think; if Ukraine had been defeated after the first two or three weeks, NATO, the EU, the US, et al. would not have to help Ukraine.
    But, at what price?
Not a price of money or items. A price that is very hard to fathom. Not only money and items, or even political. The real problems would not be gone. They would be there and this, stronger than ever. The consequences would have been many, and they would all be negative.
The West would have a stronger mafia land to deal with and one less west-friendly country in Europe. A country that is fighting for freedom, democracy and for everything good. Such a victory for Putin’s evil regime would have buoyed the rat beyond belief. It would have also sent a strong message to bat virus land, and its desires for Taiwan. It would send a clear message to India too, and all the other trash countries of this world. The costs for the West, all across the board, would be immense!
What the West gave, is giving, and will give to Ukraine, is a pittance by comparison. Assuring that Ukraine comes out victorious will have far-reaching consequences, and they will be positive ones.
