What is known about Lavrov’s daughter: American citizenship and the world of art

The only daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov , Ekaterina Vinokurova , came under British sanctions.

Catherine was born in 1982 in New York, she is a US citizen, studied at the Manhattan School, graduated from Columbia University, where she studied political science and a master’s degree in economics in London.

Currently, Lavrov’s daughter lives in Moscow, she was the director of the Russian branch of the British auction house Christie’s (sale of antiques and art objects).

While doing postgraduate practice in London, Ekaterina met and in 2008 married Alexander Vinokurov, a top manager at TPG Capital, Morgan Stanley and Alfa Group.

Note that in infrequent interviews, Vinokurova tries to talk only about work, she does not like to talk about her personal life. 

“I always wanted to connect my life with a Russian. Our sense of humor, our mentality – this cannot be translated into another language,” Catherine admitted in an interview. 

Note that Vinokurov had Israeli citizenship, and Catherine had American citizenship. But they decided to live in Moscow.

Now Ekaterina has her own business – the Smart Art project. The company is an intermediary between collectors and artists.

The Vinokourovs have two children – a son and a daughter. The media write that Vinokurova is the owner of a luxurious apartment in Moscow and a villa on Rublevsky Highway, as well as real estate in New York and London.
