The Odessa Regional Russian Drama Theatre, a utility company, is changing its name, losing the word “Russian” three months after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Such a decision will be made at the next session of the regional council, the Dumskoy correspondent reports.
The draft of the relevant decision and the amended charter of the communal enterprise have already been prepared by officials of the regional department of culture, nationalities, religions and the protection of cultural heritage sites.
“In connection with the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the commission of massive war crimes … and the threat to national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, there was an urgent need to change the name of the KP by excluding the word “Russian” from the name,” the explanatory note to draft decision.
The session of the regional council will take place in the near future.
