According to a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Russians are probably trying to gain a foothold in the occupied territories for a long time.
Russian invaders are building a third line of defense in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
This was announced by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadym Skibitsky, reports Krym.Realii .
According to him, at the first stage, the enemy was entrenched at strategic facilities (dam, hydroelectric power station in Novaya Kakhovka). From the beginning of May, the Russians began to strengthen their defenses.
“Relevant engineering structures are being prepared, not even the first or second, but the third line of defense is being built. And this suggests that (this is) the occupation of these territories, but we can talk about the prospect that the Russian Federation wants to stay for a long time. It is these military aspects wax indicators indicate Russia’s intentions to seize and hold these territories,” Skibitsky said.
He also said that Ukrainian intelligence sees the movement of troops from Crimea in the occupied parts of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. They go to the peninsula in transit from the Russian Federation.
“And, accordingly, we see how powerful Russia is now deploying a grouping of troops in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine. Because, in fact, (RF) has united a grouping that includes a land, air and sea component, since the Black Sea Fleet (RF) now controls the Azov the sea and that part of the Black Sea, located near the Crimea, near those areas that the enemy captured. A control system, a logistics support system have been created, everything has been restored through the railway, through the air route. Captured ports, airfields directly in Melitopol are actively used. This is also for basing aviation, and for the delivery of goods. Thus, the opponents are fixed,” Skibitsky said.
Earlier it was reported that the invaders continue their attempts to organize quasi-republics in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporozhye region and Kherson region. In total , two dozen “commandant’s offices” have already been created there .
