Germany is considering the possibility of implementing joint projects with the West African state of Senegal in the field of gas production and renewable energy sources.

This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Radio Liberty reports .

“This issue deserves intensive consideration,” Scholz said during a joint press conference with Senegalese President Macky Sall on May 22 as part of his first trip to Africa since his tenure as chancellor.

He said that Germany had already started negotiations with Senegal on gas production and liquefied natural gas. This will help reduce the country’s dependence on Russian gas.

Recall, earlier it was reported that Germany announced the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine . The list includes anti-tank weapons, means of interception, as well as ammunition and what can be used in artillery combat.
