Representatives of seven countries called on the Russian Federation to immediately refrain from the use of force.
A number of countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum urged the Russian Federation to withdraw all its troops from Ukraine.
The demand of the Russian Federation was put forward by representatives of seven APEC states – the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Chile, Reuters reports , referring to their joint statement.
“Reaffirming the importance of a rules-based international order that supports an open, dynamic, resilient and peaceful Asia-Pacific region, we urge Russia to immediately refrain from the use of force and withdraw all of its armed forces from Ukraine completely and unconditionally,” the document says.
Earlier it was reported that a meeting of APEC trade ministers was held in Bangkok (Thailand). Ministers from the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand left the room as Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov began to speak during the meeting.
