Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba thanked the European Parliament for adopting a resolution calling on the EU to create a special tribunal for Russia’s war criminals.

He wrote about this on Twitter .

“I am grateful to the members of the European Parliament who supported the resolution calling on the EU to support the creation of a special tribunal for crimes of aggression against Ukraine and provide it with the necessary resources and support. Together we will hold the Russian leadership accountable,” Kuleba wrote.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 3, International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan said that the ICC had launched an investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine .

On April 28, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe called on the Council of Europe to immediately create an international tribunal to hold the leadership of the Russian Federation accountable.

Yevgenia Kravchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada delegation to PACE, a deputy from the Servant of the People, said that the voted PACE resolution determined the further steps of the Council of Europe after Russia’s aggression. According to her, for the first time in the document of an international organization there was a recommendation to create a special tribunal. PACE appealed to the members of the Council of Europe to immediately establish an ad hoc International Criminal Tribunal to investigate and prosecute the crime of aggression committed by the political and military leadership of the Russian Federation.

She also added that the deputies managed to adopt an amendment in which there is a recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to appoint a special representative on the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

  1. I still wonder about the EU’s true loyalty and dedication to Ukraine. They haven’t earned my trust certainly not with Germany France and Hungary as part that block.

  2. I seriously doubt Europe’s determination and courage to accomplish such a measure, sadly.
