Reports of sexual crimes committed by Russian Nazis are received daily by the psychological helpline of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, this information freezes the blood: the atrocities of Russian soldiers have no limits.
Most of the calls come from villages and towns in the Kharkiv region liberated by the Ukrainian army over the past week. Victims of crimes themselves, as well as their relatives, call.
“Yesterday, in just one hour, ten people applied because of the sexual violence they had experienced,” says Denisova. “Eight of them are raped minors. Among them are two ten-year-old boys.
Over the past 24 hours, the hotline has received 56 calls. One of the egregious cases described by the Ombudsman took place in Izyum. Russian Nazis raped nine-year-old triplets in front of their mother. Children have severe injuries of the genital organs. The mother is in shock.
Other atrocities have been described. So, the mother of a nine-month-old girl, whom the invaders raped candles, turned to. A one-year-old baby, who was raped by two, died. A two-year-old girl raped by two Russian soldiers survived.
The line also received a message about raped men aged 67 and 78.
“Horror and rage overwhelm! This is the genocide of the Ukrainian people with particular cruelty! This is a violation not only of the norms of international humanitarian law, but also of its very essence, the morality of the civilized world!” says Lyudmila Denisova.
The Ombudsman calls on the UN commission to investigate human rights violations during Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of the genocide of the Ukrainian people, and Ukrainian partners around the world to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, provide Ukraine with offensive weapons and join the investigation of atrocious crimes.
