The pilots of the plane engulfed in flames were about to eject.
On the evening of May 18, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber. This happened near the city of Kupyansk, Kharkov region.
This was announced by military Yuri Kochevenko on Twitter .
“Just now, near Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber. For this is our sky,” Kochevenko wrote.
As noted in the Telegram channel “APU. War with the occupiers”, the Ukrainian defenders could easily get the aircraft of the occupiers from positions near Chuguev or Pechenegs.
Kochevenko also published a radio interception of a conversation from a downed plane. It testifies that the left engine caught fire in the Su-34. Frightened pilots were about to eject. It is unknown if they succeeded.
