“Road of Life” of Dnepropetrovsk region launched after restoration – Ivko

Restoration work has been completed on the road R-51 Merefa – Lozovaya – Pavlograd, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Andrey Ivko, First Deputy Head of the State Agency for Highways , informed about this .

“One of our areas of activity is the repair of roads that are important for the life of the country. These are the so-called” roads of life “. They take wounded citizens to medical facilities, evacuate civilians, and bring humanitarian aid,” he explained.

The R-51 highway is one of such key roads. Before the war, it was planned to overhaul it, but the fighting forced the road builders to postpone repairs. Now the most damaged section of R-51 has been repaired as part of operational maintenance. Quickly and at minimal cost, the “road of life” was made not only a travel card, but also strong and reliable, Ukravtodor noted.

“The full-scale Russian invasion forced to pause all large-scale projects for the construction and repair of the country’s road infrastructure. Now the main focus in the work of Ukravtodor is the restoration of transport links. In the liberated territories, we are cleaning roads from the remnants of military and civilian equipment, building crossings next to the destroyed bridges,” – Ivko said.

Recall that earlier the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov announced the restoration of communication between Kiev and Poltava along the M-03 road.

  1. This relatively small country is fighting a huge giant in a full-scale war, and these people still repair roads and bridges in the midst of it all. Simply amazing and impressive.
