The European Union will not allow Ukraine to run out of necessary weapons in the war with Russia.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was stated by Vice President of the European Commission, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell at a briefing after the meeting of the Council of the European Union at the ministerial level on defense issues in Brussels.

The High Representative of the EU said that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov spoke today via video link about the situation in Ukraine and the needs of the Ukrainian army.

As Borrell said, the European Union continues to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “I think this support makes a difference on the battlefield,” Borrell said.

He added that in order to strengthen the potential of the Ukrainian army, it is necessary to support ongoing efforts. “We have to replenish resources and supplies. And I mean this support is critical at the moment, because the war has reached a decisive moment, a turning point, and we cannot allow Ukraine to run out of equipment, and we will not allow this “, Borrell said.READ ALSO:

“We will not allow Ukraine to run out of funds, since the battle for Donbass has moved to a moment when the Ukrainians are carrying out counterattacks and repelling the Russians, and have some extraordinary success, as happened the other day with a column of Russian tanks (about the defeat of Russian troops at the crossing near Belogorivka – UNIAN),” Borrell said and noted that the Ukrainians demonstrate an incredible potential to resist and counterattack.

At the same time, the high representative stressed that the EU member states have enough resources to continue supporting Ukraine “at the same pace, without a problem.”

As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 16, the foreign ministers of the EU member states agreed on the allocation of the fourth tranche of 500 million euros for armaments for Ukraine .

Now the total amount for the supply of weapons to Ukraine has reached 2 billion euros.

  1. Nowhere near enough. Kherson must be retaken; Mariupol too. Mykolaiv and Odessa must be protected from putinazi air attacks.

A commenter in the Telegraph today made an important point :

“Right now the Ukrainians need a solution to the sub launched missiles. If one doesn’t appear there will be nothing that can be done to stop the levelling of Mykolaiv just like Mauriupol. Tragic ruination of what seems a beautiful country.”

There cannot be any more Mariupols. Boris and Biden: get your shit together before it’s too late.

  2. Perhaps a solution might be some modified P-8s through lend lease, or drones to counter rashist subs.
But you’re right Cap talk is cheap. Can wish in one hand crap in the other and I’d know which would get filled first.

What is your opinion?
