Ukrainian defenders shot down Russian Mi-24 helicopter in Luhansk region

He was shot down by an anti-aircraft gunner of the 81st separate airmobile brigade from the Stinger MANPADS.

In the Lugansk region, the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Mi-24 helicopter.

This was reported on Facebook by the Public Relations Service of the Command of the Air Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Today, May 12, in the Luhansk region, an anti-aircraft gunner of the 81st separate airmobile brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine discovered a group of four enemy helicopters, and shot down the leader of the second pair from the Stinger MANPADS,” the message says.

It is also noted that the DShV air defense units continue to carry out combat missions and destroy enemy air attack weapons.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian military shot down another Russian Ka-52 helicopter in the Izyum region of the Kharkiv region . The helicopter was shot down by the Polish MANPADS “Perun” of the 95th Airborne Brigade: this Russian helicopter costs $16 million.
