The Russian government has published a list of companies subject to sanctions under the Decree “On the Application of Retaliatory Special Economic Measures in Connection with the Unfriendly Actions of Certain Foreign States and International Organizations,” which Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on May 3.
The list compiled by the government is published on the official Internet portal of legal information. The list includes 31 companies, most of which belong to the Gazprom Germania group. Also under the sanctions was EuRoPol GAZ SA, the owner of the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.
Sanctioned companies are prohibited from making any transactions, making financial transactions in which they are the beneficiaries, as well as exporting to them or for them raw materials and products manufactured in Russia.
In early April, the German Ministry of Economics “temporarily nationalized” Gazprom Germania, transferring the company until September 30 under the control of the Federal Network Agency.
At the end of April, Gazprom stopped gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria , explaining the decision by the fact that the authorities of these countries refused to comply with the requirement to pay in rubles.
