Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine István Íjgyártó has said that his country will not block Ukraine’s accession to NATO and the EU.
According to Ukrinform, the ambassador said this in an interview with Ukraine’s Espreso TV channel.
“If we talk about Ukraine’s desire to join NATO, we have never been against it. Therefore, if Ukraine still wants to join the alliance, we will not oppose it,” the ambassador said.
Íjgyártó also stated that Hungary will support Ukraine’s membership in the European Union when this issue is considered.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on May 5 that Hungary condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine and called for an immediate investigation into all possible war crimes.
